Assay Technology
Successful high-throughput profiling demands robust assays, minimal physical manipulation and homogeneity across the expressed target family of assays. ACD has developed the largest commercially available panel of protein tyrosine kinase cellular assays, comprising more than 40 assays with multiple representatives of each protein tyrosine kinase sub-family. This assay panel provides a unique and powerful discovery tool for exploring compound activities and target cross-reactivities across a significant collection of both receptor and cytoplasmic enzymes from one of the most pharmaceutically important target class families.

The ACD assay principle builds on the work of Daley & Baltimore (1988)* in which a cell’s survival is engineered to be dependent upon maintenance of the introduced enzyme’s activity. Inhibition of this activity results in a directly proportional decrease in cell viability, which, as each cell is modified to produce a uniform quantity of luciferase, results in decreased luminescence.
